About us

Independent Artist Academy is the collaborative effort of Kathleen and Kaitlyn Jenkins, a mother and daughter classical ballet training team. Because of their deep love for the art of ballet and a commitment to knowledgeable training, they set out to develop a unique classical dance program for aspiring young students.  Kathleen and Kaitlyn believe training the whole dancer is paramount, so they take the time to individually assess each student and create a training program that will best fit the technical needs and personal aspirations of each dancer.  Independent Artist Academy proudly incorporates the ABT training program into its curriculum, which offers classes for recreational and pre-professional students ages three and up. With over forty years of combined experience, they have trained numerous students who have attended university dance programs, performing art conservatory schools, elite summer dance intensives, and classical dance competitions. In addition to highly skilled training, they offer students the opportunity to perform in bi-annual studio productions, attend competitions, and join in educational outings that expand and enhance their dance horizons.
